This book constitutes revised selected papers from the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the Second International Human Centered Computing Conference, HCC 2016, that consolidated and further develops the successful ICPCA/SWS conferences on Pervasive Computing and the Networked World, and which was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in January 2016. The 58 full papers and 30 short papers presented in this volume together with one keynote talk were carefully reviewed and selected from 211 submissions. These proceedings present research papers investigating into a variety of aspects towards human centric intelligent societies. They cover the categories: infrastructure and devices; service and solution; data and knowledge; and community.
Airway Stenting in Interventional Radiology
This book aims to provide comprehensive pictures of airway stenting technology in interventional radiology to clinical practitioners. The highlight of this book is that design concept and structure of stent are described in detail for readers to choose suitable stents for different airway diseases. The Mythistorical Chinese Scholar-Rebel-Advisor Li Yan
Roger Des Forges here examines the puzzle of Li Yan, a Chinese scholar who advised the rebel Li Zicheng (1605-1645), and helped him to overthrow the Ming, only to die at his hands. For more than three centuries, Li Yan’s identity and even existence were seriously questioned. Then, in 2004, there was discovered a genealogical manuscript which includes a Li Yan (1606-1644). He now appears to be the principal historical reality behind the Li Yan story, which became a powerful metaphor for the rise and fall of Li Zicheng’s rebellion. Offering a fresh theory of Chinese and world history, the author elucidates Li Yan’s historical significance by comparing and contrasting him with similar figures in other times and places around the globe.
