This book provides a broad overview of the many card systems and solutions that are in practical use today. This new edition adds content on RFIDs, embedded security, attacks and countermeasures, security evaluation, javacards, banking or payment cards, identity cards and passports, mobile systems security, and security management. A step-by-step approach educates the reader in card types, production, operating systems, commercial applications, new technologies, security design, attacks, application development, deployment and lifecycle management. By the end of the book the reader should be able to play an educated role in a smart card related project, even to programming a card application. This book is designed as a textbook for graduate level students in computer science. It is also as an invaluable post-graduate level reference for professionals and researchers. This volume offers insight into benefits and pitfalls of diverse industry, government, financial and logistics aspects while providing a sufficient level of technical detail to support technologists, information security specialists, engineers and researchers.

The concept of trust is related to many aspects of our daily lives, and different stakeholders use the term “trust” in various contexts. Trust is crucial in today’s information societies for ensuring success of digital economies in all countries and regions. This book contains papers that were presented at the conference “Future of Trust in Computing” and brings together academics, regulators, technologists, and practitioners working in diverse areas of trust from various parts of the world. The authors discuss issues they are facing and begin to form a common framework. Security and privacy threats and remedies, core trust-enforcing technologies, innovative applications, regulatory issues, privacy and usability, economics as well as provable security and assurance are discussed. Finally, a number of papers touch upon innovative approaches to trust that begin to define new fields of research and innovative types of technologies.
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Trusted Systems, INTRUST 2015, held in Beijing, China, in December 2015. The revised 12 full papers presented have been carefully reviewed and selected from 29 submissions. They are devoted to all aspects of trusted computing systems, including trusted modules, platforms; networks, services and applications. The papers are organized in the following sections: encryptions and signatures; security model; trusted technologies; software and system security.

The 15th International Workshop on Conceptual Structures ICCS 2007 brings together numerous discussions between international groups of researchers from the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). At ICCS 2007 some of the world’s best minds in information technology, arts, humanities and social science met to explore novel ways that ICT can augment human intelligence. The workshops include, Rough sets and data mining, and ubiquitous and collaborative computing.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Trust and Privacy in Digital Business, TrustBus 2011, held in Toulouse, France, in August/September 2011 in conjunction with DEXA 2011. The 18 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The papers are organized in the following topical sections: identity and trust management; security and privacy models for pervasive information systems; reliability and security of content and data; authentication and authorization in digital business; intrusion detection and information filtering; management of privacy and confidentiality; and cryptographic protocols/usability of security.
Studies on robotics applications have grown substantially in recent years, with swarm robotics being a relatively new area of research. Inspired by studies in swarm intelligence and robotics, swarm robotics facilitates interactions between robots as well as their interactions with the environment. The Handbook of Research on Design, Control, and Modeling of Swarm Robotics is a collection of the most important research achievements in swarm robotics thus far, covering the growing areas of design, control, and modeling of swarm robotics. This handbook serves as an essential resource for researchers, engineers, graduates, and senior undergraduates with interests in swarm robotics and its applications.
This three-volume set LNCS 12452, 12453, and 12454 constitutes the proceedings of the 20th International Conference on Algorithms and Architectures for Parallel Processing, ICA3PP 2020, in New York City, NY, USA, in October 2020. The total of 142 full papers and 5 short papers included in this proceedings volumes was carefully reviewed and selected from 495 submissions. ICA3PP is covering the many dimensions of parallel algorithms and architectures, encompassing fundamental theoretical approaches, practical experimental projects, and commercial components and systems. As applications of computing systems have permeated in every aspects of daily life, the power of computing system has become increasingly critical. This conference provides a forum for academics and practitioners from countries around the world to exchange ideas for improving the efficiency, performance, reliability, security and interoperability of computing systems and applications. ICA3PP 2020 focus on two broad areas of parallel and distributed computing, i.e. architectures, algorithms and networks, and systems and applications.
