Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Resources and Technology (RESAT 2023)
This is an open access book. "Resources and Technology" (RESAT 2023) will be hosted by German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT), on June 19-20, 2023. Conference participants also have the opportunity to join an extension field trip to Baganuur (June 21, 2023), and to attend the 12 Regional Meeting of the Society of Mining Professors (SOMP) which immediately follows (June 22-23, 2023), also hosted by GMIT.
Optimization and Optimal Control
Optimization and optimal control are the main tools in decision making. Because of their numerous applications in various disciplines, research in these areas is accelerating at a rapid pace. “Optimization and Optimal Control: Theory and Applications” brings together the latest developments in these areas of research as well as presents applications of these results to a wide range of real-world problems. This volume can serve as a useful resource for researchers, practitioners, and advanced graduate students of mathematics and engineering working in research areas where results in optimization and optimal control can be applied.
Optimization, Simulation and Control
This volume gathers selected, peer-reviewed works presented at the 7th International Conference on Optimization, Simulation and Control, ICOSC 2022, held at the National University of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, June 20–22, 2022. Topics covered include (but are not limited to) mathematical programming; network, global, linear, nonlinear, parametric, stochastic, and multi-objective optimization; control theory; biomathematics; and deep and machine learning, to name a few. Held every three years since 2002, the ICOSC conference has become a traditional gathering for experienced and young researchers in optimization and control to share recent findings in these fields and discuss novel applications in myriad sectors. Researchers and graduate students in the fields of mathematics, engineering, and computer science can greatly benefit from this book, which can also be enjoyed by advanced practitioners in research laboratories and the industry. The 2022 edition of the ICOSC conference was sponsored by the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the National University of Mongolia and the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology.
Conjugate Duality in Convex Optimization
The results presented in this book originate from the last decade research work of the author in the ?eld of duality theory in convex optimization. The reputation of duality in the optimization theory comes mainly from the major role that it plays in formulating necessary and suf?cient optimality conditions and, consequently, in generatingdifferent algorithmic approachesfor solving mathematical programming problems.
