A Stitch in Time

Hannah is the strong one. The one who cares for her brothers and sisters; the one who's kept the family together. But now, everything is changing. Her father is more distant, and her siblings are starting lives of their own. That's when Hannah decides to make a quilt. A quilt of fabrics from people who are special to the family; people they trust. And when the sisters are separated, Hannah makes sure they each have a piece of the quilt. The quilt she hopes will bring her family together again.

Ds9#27 A Stitch In Time

Tailor, soldier, spy ... the enigmatic Garak, Cardassian-in-exile on space station Deep Space Nine, established himself rapidly - thanks largely to his superb portrayal by actor (and now author) Andrew Robinson - as one of the best-loved characters on Star Trek DS9. Garak refers to himself as 'just a simple tailor' - but everyone knows that there's more to him than that. Ex-member of the Cardassian invasion forces; ex-member of the Obsidian Order, the dreaded Cardassian secret police; cynic, wit, epicure, man of mystery: - why WAS he banished from his home planet, and why does he choose to spend his exile on Deep Space Nine? Andrew Robinson, to whom Garak's voice comes as readily as his own, spins an enthralling, twisting yarn in true inimitable Garak style.

Real-World Data and Real-World Evidence in Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is still one of the most common malignancies with a high global mortality rate with over 2 million cases confirmed by the World Health Organization in 2018. Although there has been progress in diagnosing and treating lung cancer, patients still have poor prognosis with a 5-year survival rate typically from 4-17% which is dependent on the stage of the cancer and regional differences. The majority of lung cancer patients are at the advanced stages of the disease at the time of their diagnosis and therefore, have less chances of early treatment that could have improved their survival rate. Therefore, early detection of lung cancer remains imperative to improve the prognosis.

Satyajit Ray's work put India on the map of world cinema and led Akira Kurosawa to say of him: "Not to have seen the cinema of Ray means existing in the world without seeing the sun or the moon." Beginning with Pather Panchali, released fifty years ago this year, Ray won almost every major prize, including an Oscar for lifetime achievement. What makes him unparalleled in cinema is that he was personally responsible for all aspects of his films-from script to music. Published as a lavish album, the hundreds of illustrations in this book include drawings by Ray, film stills and photographs by Nemai Ghosh, who accompanied Ray and observed his work for nearly twenty-five years.

Forest Analytics with R

Forest Analytics with R combines practical, down-to-earth forestry data analysis and solutions to real forest management challenges with state-of-the-art statistical and data-handling functionality. The authors adopt a problem-driven approach, in which statistical and mathematical tools are introduced in the context of the forestry problem that they can help to resolve. All the tools are introduced in the context of real forestry datasets, which provide compelling examples of practical applications. The modeling challenges covered within the book include imputation and interpolation for spatial data, fitting probability density functions to tree measurement data using maximum likelihood, fit...
