‘Hurrying Truth’ in the Poetry of Anne Sexton

This book investigates the key terms ‘truth’ and ‘misinformation’ in the light of Anne Sexton’s Complete Poems. The author argues that what characterizes her poems is their heightened level of transparency; poem after poem, she establishes a close relationship with the reader through recording a detailed account of her private stories. In this sense, the aim of this study hinges on demonstrating the inscription of truth in Sexton’s poems.

In the advancing fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science, a pressing ethical dilemma arises. As technology continues its relentless march forward, ethical considerations within these domains become increasingly complex and critical. Bias in algorithms, lack of transparency, data privacy breaches, and the broader societal repercussions of AI applications are demanding urgent attention. This ethical quandary poses a formidable challenge for researchers, academics, and industry professionals alike, threatening the very foundation of responsible technological innovation. Navigating this ethical minefield requires a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted issues at hand. T...

Charles Cooper, III and Stella Samuel join forces to bring writing treasures to the world in the Elizabeth River Press Annual. A place where writers belong, feel welcome, and can build their foundation, no matter where their writing career takes them, this year's Annual celebrates writers from all over the world. The Elizabeth River Writers is a well-versed tribe of prose writers and poets. When Stella Samuel heard complaints of new writers submitting and hearing no constantly, she discovered not a lack of skill in writing, but a lack of publishers who would take on the influx of writing. After years of publishing experience, she asked Charles Cooper from Elizabeth River Press to partner with her and help build a tribe of writers to uplift and support each other as they travel their personal and professional journeys into the world of publishing. We hope you enjoy these pieces from thirty-four authors, this year's Elizabeth River Writers, in the 2020 Annual, a compilation of life through words.

This new edition offers comprehensive coverage of all areas of interventional pulmonology, a minimally invasive endoscopic method for diagnosing and treating lung disorders. The text is divided into eight sections on the major areas of interventional pulmonology, including basic endoscopy, lung cancer staging, and interventional bronschoscopy in asthma and emphysema. Chapters then explore specific procedures and techniques, including medical thoracoscopy, flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, and electromagnetical navigation with coverage of history, indications and contraindications, and up-to-date evidence-based reviews. Crito Di Volta

When 26-year old Crito di Volta is released after 10 years of psychiatric institutionalization, he develops and launches Motarism, a new socio-political and psycho-spiritual movement through which he de-institutionalizes, and eventually reconnects with, all of humanity. Seasonal Unit Root Tests Under Structural Breaks

In this paper, several seasonal unit root tests are analysed in the context of structural breaks at known time and a new break corrected test is suggested. We show that the widely used HEGY test, as well as an LM variant thereof, are asymptotically robust to seasonal mean shifts of finite magnitude. In finite samples, however, experiments reveal that such tests suffer from severe size distortions and power reductions when breaks are present. Hence, a new break corrected LM test is proposed to overcome this problem. Importantly, the correction for seasonal mean shifts bears no consequence on the limiting distributions, thereby maintaining the legitimacy of canonical critical values. Moreover, although this test assumes a breakpoint a priori, it is robust in terms of misspecification of the time of the break. This asymptotic property is well reproduced in finite samples. Based on a Monte-Carlo study, our new test is compared with other procedures suggested in the literature and shown to hold superior finite sample properties.
