When Sergius of Radonezh founded a monastery near Moscow, his example spawned a movement of monastic foundations throughout Russia. Within three decades of his death in 1392, Sergius was recognized as a saint, and by 1450 many considered him the intercessor for the Russian land who freed its people from Mongol rule. Over the next century and a half, thousands sought St. Sergius' intercession with gifts to the monastery. Moscow's rulers made Sergius patron saint of their dynasty and of the Russian tsardom. By 1605, the Trinity-Sergius monastery was the biggest house in Russia. Miller presents Trinity's dramatic history from the fourteenth century to the beginning of the Time of Troubles. Usin...
The proceedings of the 4th Stability and Control Processes Conference are focused on modern applied mathematics, stability theory, and control processes. The conference was held in recognition of the 90th birthday of Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Zubov (1930–2000). This selection of papers reflects the wide-ranging nature of V. I. Zubov’s work, which included contributions to the development of the qualitative theory of differential equations, the theory of rigid body motion, optimal control theory, and the theory of electromagnetic fields. It helps to advance many aspects of the theory of control systems, including questions of motion stability, nonlinear oscillations in control systems,...
This book is based on the accepted research papers presented in the International Conference "Artificial Intelligence in Engineering & Science" (AIES-2022). The aim of the AIES Conference is to bring together researchers involved in the theory of computational intelligence, knowledge engineering, fuzzy systems, soft computing, machine learning and related areas and applications in engineering, bioinformatics, industry, medicine, energy, smart city, social spheres and other areas. This book presents new perspective research results: models, methods, algorithms and applications in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Particular emphasis is given to the medical applications - medical images recognition, development of the expert systems which could be interesting for the AI researchers as well for the physicians looking for the new ideas in medicine. The central audience of the book are researchers, industrial practitioners, students specialized in the Artificial Intelligence.
This book presents the proceedings of the 24th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2020), held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 29 August to 8 September 2020. The conference was postponed from June, and much of it conducted online due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The conference is one of the principal occasions for researchers and practitioners of AI to meet and discuss the latest trends and challenges in all fields of AI and to demonstrate innovative applications and uses of advanced AI technology. The book also includes the proceedings of the 10th Conference on Prestigious Applications of Artificial Intelligence (PAIS 2020) held at the same time. A record number of ...
