Biblical Interpretation in Early Christian Gospels
The second title in a proposed five-volume work; volume two, following on from the volume on Mark's Gospel, concentrates on Matthew's Gospel. Contributors consider the function of embedded scripture texts in the context of the Gospels written and read/heard in their early Christian settings. The project is wide ranging, with essays on the function of scripture in the compositional history of the gospels and the collection is broad in scope as a result of current interest in the integration of methods (especially historical and narrative ones). Advancements over the last 20 years in the study of genre and narrative criticism have left a void in the study of the function of embedded biblical texts in the Gospels. This collection of essays will move the study of scripture within scripture forwards.
Rendering Techniques ’98
Some of the best current research on realistic rendering is included in this volume. It emphasizes the current "hot topics” in this field: image based rendering, and efficient local and global-illumination calculations. In the first of these areas, there are several contributions on real-world model acquisition and display, on using image-based techniques for illumination and on efficient ways to parameterize and compress images or light fields, as well as on clever uses of texture and compositing hardware to achieve image warping and 3D surface textures. In global and local illumination, there are contributions on extending the techniques beyond diffuse reflections, to include specular and more general angle dependent reflection functions, on efficiently representing and approximating these reflection functions, on representing light sources and on approximating visibility and shadows. Finally, there are two contributions on how to use knowledge about human perception to concentrate the work of accurate rendering only where it will be noticed, and a survey of computer graphics techniques used in the production of a feature length computer-animated film with full 3D characters.

Theres no light at the end of the tunnel. Theres just the tunnel. After a failed suicide attempt leaves his parents desperate for answers, seventeen year-old Cole Hatch is sent to Green Hill, a short-term psychiatric hospital for troubled teens. There he meets a group of teens with real problems and real reasons for having those problems, as well as a staff incapable of helping anyone, despite their best efforts and intentions. Cole finds himself connecting with Amy Warner, a girl with a troubled past and a bleak future. Considered to be a drain on everyone around her, Amy looks to Cole to provide a sliver of happiness in her life. As Cole and Amy become closer to one another, the harsh reality of separation looms over them when Amys self-destructive behavior all but guarantees her a lifetime spent in a psychiatric facility. Their captivity inside Green Hill keeps them together. They'll have to figure out how to cope once that shared captivity comes to an end and deal with new beginnings that might not be what they had hoped for.
