Studies the architectural relationship between Portugal's most outstanding houses and their gardens. Written by an architect and illustrated by a professional photographer, it is a classic reference work and a pictorial treasure.
This book highlights the challenges and trends resulting from the relationship between tourist motivations, World Heritage Sites and local cultural uniqueness. With a special focus on Portugal and Brazil, several chapters refer to international cultural heritage experiences and destinations in Belgium, Cuba, Croatia, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Spain and Turkey. The volume shows that there is some crossover between tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and explores themes such as festivals and events, marketing, branding, sustainability, authenticity, preservation, wine tourism, ethnic tourism, religious tourism, literary tourism, museology and garden tourism. It will appeal to readers interested in tourism management, quality of the tourist offer, tourism heritage products, and characteristics of the tourism demand in the scope of cultural heritage.
Being sure that the Portuguese wines are excellent (proof of this is international recognition), I invited the Portuguese wine producers to choose one of their wines, in order to create a snack for the selected wine: find the right snack for the right wine. So, fifty-two producers from all regions of Portugal created a snack for one of their wines. I think a good meal accompanied by an excellent wine is always something rewarding. Even better, just the taste of a delicious dish created to be harmonized with the wine of choice. - André Pereira, publisher A book with delicious and easy snacks to cook for friends and family. For a more encompassing and stimulating picture of Modernism seen as a movement of the 20th century, a broad spectrum of work across many countries we must explore its diversity. Portuguese Modernism manifested itself both in visual art and in literature, and made a vigorous contribution to this time of profound cultural change. Indeed, the sociocultural transformations that marked the early 20th century in Portugal are still current. This volume provides a critical guide for students and teachers, contributed by an array of scholars with unparalleled knowledge of the period, its artists and its writers.
