This collection is also for those who have never been chosen, who love deeply yet find themselves left empty in the end. It's a tribute to the hearts that give without reservation and endure the silence of unreciprocated affection. They are a reminder that in the vulnerability of loving, there is strength, and in the pain of loss, there is a quiet resilience. May these words offer solace, understanding, and the courage to continue loving, even when the outcome is uncertain.
Saigo Takamori adalah pemimpin Samurai terakhir. Kematiannya mengakhiri ratusan tahun tradisi Samurai sekaligus menandai kelahiran Jepang modern. Dia adalah sosok yang terjebak dalam paradoks: abdi yang setia kepada kaisar, namun juga pemimpin pemberontak; pejuang yang gagah perkasa, tetapi juga ahli puisi China. Samurai identik dengan prajurit utama. Dengan baju besi yang rumit, pedang tajam, dan prinsip kehormatan yang ketat, sosok Samurai menjadi ikon yang pengaruhnya masih terasa hingga saat ini. Ketenarannya mengilhami banyak film, novel, komik, video game, bahkan perkumpulan seni.
This book presents modern developments in time series econometrics that are applied to macroeconomic and financial time series. It contains the most important approaches to analyze time series which may be stationary or nonstationary.
With its broad coverage of methodology, this comprehensive book is a useful learning and reference tool for those in applied sciences where analysis and research of time series is useful. Its plentiful examples show the operational details and purpose of a variety of univariate and multivariate time series methods. Numerous figures, tables and real-life time series data sets illustrate the models and methods useful for analyzing, modeling, and forecasting data collected sequentially in time. The text also offers a balanced treatment between theory and applications. Time Series Analysis is a thorough introduction to both time-domain and frequency-domain analyses of univariate and multivariate time series methods, with coverage of the most recently developed techniques in the field.
This translation of Noldeke's 'Kurzgefasste syrische Grammatik,' a lucid description of Syriac orthography and phonology (I), morphology (II), and syntax (III), is undeniably one of the major achievements of Syriac studies in the nineteenth century. Since then, the book has admirably served generations of students.
This volume "is intended primarily to equip students for the reading of the Targums and the Aramaic portions of the Palestinian Talmud and Midrashim, and to provide a help to the study of the Aramaic elements contained in the writings of the New Testament. "The Aramaic of the books of Ezra and Daniel is perhaps best learned after a study has been made of one of the dialects just named. Its forms and uses, therefore, are noted in a supplementary way throughout the grammar. At the same time those who choose to begin with Old Testament Aramaic may do so with the help of the special paradigms at the end of the book. . . ." --from the Preface
The first new dictionary of Jewish Babylonian Aramaic in a century, this towering scholarly achievement provides a complete lexicon of the entire vocabulary used in both literary and epigraphic sources from the Jewish community in Babylon from the third century C.E. to the twelfth century. Author Michael Sokoloff's primary source is, of course, the Babylonian Talmud, one of the most important and influential works in Jewish literature. Unlike the authors of previous dictionaries of this dialect, however, he also uses a variety of other sources, from inscriptions and legal documents to other rabbinical literature. A Dictionary of Jewish Babylonian Aramaic also differs from earlier lexographic...
Since the Middle Ages, lexographies of Talmudic and other rabbinic literature have combined in one entry Babylonian, Palestinian, and Targumic words from various periods. Because morphologically identical words in even closely related dialects can frequently differ in both meaning and nuance, their consolidation into one dictionary entry is often misleading. Scholars now realize the need to treat each dialect separately, and in A Dictionary of Jewish Palestinian Aramaic, Michael Sokoloff provides a complete lexicon of the dialect spoken and written by Jews in Palestine during the Byzantine period, from the third century C.E. to the tenth century. Sokoloff draws on a wide range of sources, fr...
This 1999 book was the first to use all the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls to reconstruct original Aramaic sources from parts of Mark's Gospel. The scrolls enabled the author to revolutionize the methodology of such work, and to reconstruct whole passages which he interpreted in their original cultural context. The passages from which sources are reconstructed are Mark 9.11-13; 2.23-3.6; 10.35-45; and 14.12-26. A detailed discussion of each passage is offered, demonstrating that these sources are completely accurate accounts from the ministry of Jesus, from early sabbath disputes to his final Passover. An account of the translation process is given, showing how problems in Mark's text arose from the difficulty of translating some Aramaic expressions into Greek, including the notoriously difficult 'son of man'. A very early date for these sources is proposed, implying a date of c. 40 CE for Mark's Gospel.
