Beech Street...

Who would have known that one summer, in the sleepy town of East Palo Alto, California, would lead to so many secretsA[a¬A] some goodA[a¬A] some not so good. The "master plan" was all that the six of us ever wanted to accomplish! But things just kept getting in the way. After all, 1959 was a great year to be alive, young, innocent and sure that we were all invincible and destined to accomplish great things. Roadhouse's accident was horrible and should have been some type of omen as to what was to take place that summer! Smoking "stogies," the blaring siren of the fire truck, "water bombs" in the city bus, Putsy losing his tail, discovering the awful secret at poor Frankie's house, being banned from our sacred tree, Bob blowing up his own hand and the raiding of gardens were some of the "not so good" events that took place that summer. On the other hand, there were no more babysitters during the weekdaysA[a¬A]we were finally on our own! There were barbecues with all the relatives, homemade ice cream, a raise in allowance, Christmas in July, the Chinese Market, the "rec center," and our clubhouse with the secret oaths.

When Pamela, Bettina, and their friends show up at the Voorhees House to greet its new owner, they’re met with a most unwelcome sight: a dead body on the kitchen floor. Tassie Hunt just inherited the old Victorian, which had been occupied by a reclusive widow for many years and had a reputation for being haunted. But Tassie would have been unlikely to be spooked since her career involved debunking such paranormal phenomena. Her demise sets off a ...
