He was born at Freedom, Wisconsin, the son of Franklin Benjamin and Wilhelmina Hoefer Fosdick. He married Nora Estella Warren 31 Dec 1889. Descendants lived in Oregon, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, California and elsewhere.
