The 4 full papers presented in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 22 submissions. In addition, this book includes 6 work-in-progress papers, 4 new ideas paper, and two invited papers. This series of conferences serves as a meeting place to bring together distributed systems expertise (e.g., in resource allocation, quality of service management, and energy consumption) with economics expertise (focusing on both micro- and macro-economic modelling and analysis) for creating effective solutions in this space.

Much of our knowledge of stem cells has been inferred from studies of remarkable few species. The ability to manipulate stem cells in “model” organisms such as the mouse and a few other vertebrate species has driven our understanding of basic biology of stem cells. Memory Optimizations of Embedded Applications for Energy Efficiency
The current embedded processors often do not satisfy increasingly demanding computation requirements of embedded applications within acceptable energy efficiency, whereas application-specific integrated circuits require excessive design costs. In the Stanford Elm project, it was identified that instruction and data delivery, not computation, dominate the energy consumption of embedded processors. Negotiating the French Pox in Early Modern Germany
This book explores the identity of the 'French disease' (alias the 'French pox' or 'Morbus Gallicus') in the German Imperial city of Augsburg between 1495 and 1630. Rejecting the imposition of modern conceptions of disease upon the past, it reveals how early modern medical theory facilitated enormous flexibility in defining disease, and how disease identification was a local matter, and one of constant negotiation and renegotiation.
