Samuel Kink Kinkead won two DSCs with the Royal Naval Air Service, two DFC with the fledgling RAF and the DSO in Russia.A brilliant pilot, postwar he was a long range aviation pioneer and leading racing ace selected for the international Schneider Trophy in Venice in 1927. Tragically, he was killed in 1928 when he was only 31 during his attempt to shatter the World Air Speed record. Cantwell Greene Families of East Tennessee
David Cantwell was born in 1811 in South Carolina to John Cantwell and his third wife Jane Barnett. The family moved to Tennessee around 1816. David married Mary "Polly" Greene around 1834. She was the daughter of William Greene and Rutha Slaton. David and Mary had 10 children. David died around 1864 in Tennessee. Mary died in 1899 in Tennessee. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Missouri, California, Kansas, and elsewhere.
