The Killing Name

Brett Anderson Walker’s debut novel, The Killing Name (first in a series), follows the exploits of Private Investigator Cubby Dillon, a cocky American living in Paris. Despite his desire to be an artist, he finds it impossible to complete a single painting. Fortunately, his uncanny ability to locate missing persons, coupled with a steadfast respect for client confidentiality, has made him highly sought-after by Europe’s wealthy. When Dillon is hired by a Belgian chocolate heiress to locate her missing husband, he is drawn into the web of two brutal Russian brothers determined to implicate him in a series of murders. Even with the help of his best friend, Captain Pierre Lamont of the Paris Homicide Department, it will require stealth and a lot of luck to clear him and disrupt the brothers’ ring of prostitution. The story takes the reader from the filthy smelting plants of Nizhny Tagil, Russia, to upscale Parisian art galleries, climaxing between smoky grills and juju bands at an African festival in the southwest of France.

Dynamics and Change in Organizations

Organizational Semiotics occupies an important niche in the research community of human communication and information systems. It opens up new ways of understanding the functioning of information and information resources in organised behaviour. In recent years, a numberof workshops and conferences have provided researchers and practitioners opportunities to discuss their theories, methods and practices and to assess the benefits and potential of this approach. Literature in this field is much in demand but still difficult to find, so we are pleased to offer a third volume in the miniseries of Studies in Organizational Semiotics. This book is based on the papers and discussions of the fifth ...
