Frontiers in Plant Science: 2020 Highlights
The Editorial Office of Frontiers in Plant Science would like to thank all the Chief Editors, Associate Editors and Review Editors that played an integral part in Frontiers’ innovative Collaborative Peer-Review process in 2020. In particular, we would like to recognize and thank Prof. Joshua L. Heazlewood – our now former Field Chief Editor, for his commitment, support and enthusiasm for the Plant Science field. Josh’s dedication and leadership has helped Frontiers in Plant Science become the most cited journal in the field with a strong editorial community. Looking forward, we’re excited to welcome Prof. Yunde Zhao, as our new Field Chief Editor in 2021. Having been with Frontiers in Plant Science since 2017, Yunde has contributed extensively to the development of the journal and will continue to ensure the journal goes from strength to strength.
Women in Virology: 2022
In celebration of International Women's Day 2022, Frontiers in Microbiology are proud to launch this Women in Virology collection, a dedicated Frontiers Research Topic aimed at celebrating the achievements of women in this field. There is continued gender disparity in STEM field. According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics, just 30% of the world's researchers are women. While the number of women attending university is growing, they still represent the minority of doctoral students and researchers. Women remain under-represented in the highest level of academia, holding just 26% of full professorships. As highlighted by UNESCO, science and gender equality are essential to ensure sustainable development.

Die Beiträger*innen widmen sich diesen Lücken, indem sie erfolgreiche, aber auch gescheiterte Projekte kollaborativer Textproduktion zwischen Universität und Feld vorstellen und auf ihr Potenzial als transformative und dekoloniale Wissenspraxis befragen. So entsteht eine praktische Orientierungshilfe, die gleichzeitig die interdisziplinäre Diskussion anregt.

Le Avventure di Milo & Pinà. Amici per la pelle
Pinà, una ragazza cresciuta da genitori etologi in Africa, vive con la nonna Agata. Quando la nonna muore improvvisamente, Pinà decide di fuggire dall'assistente sociale, aspettando i genitori in Italia. Si stabilisce in un piccolo paese, facendo amicizia e promuovendo la raccolta differenziata. Un temporale distrugge il suo rifugio, ma viene salvata da Milo, un cagnolino. In ospedale, Milo aiuta a catturare un ladro, ma l'assistente sociale vuole portare via Pinà.
