A "suspenseful, atmospheric tale. . .punctured by a gut-punch twist" (Entertainment Weekly), A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World is a story of survival, courage and hope amid the ruins of our world. My name's Griz. I've never been to school, I've never had friends, and in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away. But we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other, and our dogs. Then the thief came. "This unputdownable story has everything -- a well-imagined post-apocalyptic world, great characters, incredible suspense, and, of course, the fierce love of some very good dogs." -- Kirkus (starred review)

Written by highly respected psychologists, the book takes a broad approach, allowing the flex technique to be applied to a variety of problems, including stress, alcoholism, addiction to smoking, and weight issues. Proposing a simple habit-breaking method, this guide is sure to interest anyone who wishes to get out of a behavioral rut.

In AD 1066, Duke William II of Normandy, later known as William the Conqueror, won a decisive victory at the Battle of Hastings, but the complex drama that engendered that battle began years earlier, with the marriage of Aethelred the Unready to Emma of Normandy, and culminated at the death of Edward the Confessor.

AND THE WATER SHALL CALL THEM HOME A water-borne blight hits a small community on a remote Scottish island. The residents are a mix of island-born and newcomers seeking a slower life away from the modern world; all have their own secrets, some much darker than others. Some claim the illness may be a case of mass hysteria - or even a long-buried curse - but when ferry service fails and phone towers go down, inconvenience grows into nightmarish ordeal as the outwardly harmonious fabric of the community is irreversibly torn apart. Dead Water is an atmospheric, suspenseful tale of folk horror and isolation within a small island community, from the author of A Boy and his Dog at the End of the World - perfect for fans of Midnight Mass and The Pine. As you read the stories in this book, take into account that the writer does not consider himself an author or a writer. He does think that he is a "storyteller" as were most all of the people who lived in the mountains of Western North Carolina before, during, and after the Great Depression of the 1930s. The younger generation who came along after WW II were not exposed to these storytellers and have no idea of what life was like during what we old-timers like to call "the good old days."I tell these stories to make the younger generation of today aware of the hardships we older people faced in getting to this point in our lives. What you read in these stories is a part of what aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas, and all the others not having all the modern things we have today experienced. If I did not record these events of my life, they would be lost forever. My hope is that, in reading my stories, young people will learn about the past and that older people will refresh their memories of, "the good old days." Charles C. Fletcher
