D’aquest i d’altres temes tracta aquest llibre.” “Santa Coloma constitueix un interessant exemple de ciutat dormitori, objecte d’estudi durant el franquisme. Va patir a la immediata postguerra el dur exili, la repressió i depuració dels seus habitants, amb execucions de personatges tant destacats com un dels seus darrers alcaldes durant la República. L’especulació urbana i el grans negocis a l’empara i complicitat dels polítics municipals, caracteritzen un llarg període que, iniciat als anys 60, amb una onada migratòria sense precedents fruit del desenvolupament de l’època, configuren una ciutat dormitori que des del punt de vista urbà, econòmic i social, presenta característiques molt particulars.
