Journal of Charles Turner
The journals of Charles Turner (1827-1910). He helped settle Morgan, Utah and arrived there in 1860. He was a farmer and made lime and brick. He was the first bishop of the Morgan Ward in 1877 and served for 29 years. He was then made a patriarch. He served as the first stake tithing bishop and the first Indian agent for the county for a number of years. He served on the city council for a number of years as well as the Mayor. He was a polygamist and wrote of hiding from the federal agents. -- summary provided by his great-great-grandson.

Thanks Hobart for sending several papers and discusses a fishery bill. Mentions that Judge Thomas has died and Wilkes Wood has been appointed to succeed him. Asks Hobart to visit Edmund M. Blunt in New York and get him a copy of Nautical et Ornance for 1820, which he could not find in Boston.
