Los territorios rebeldes no han ganado, pero han corrido las fronteras de lo posible, logrando reponer en Chile en el debate público las ideas de autonomía regional, territorio intercultural y autonomía mapuche, coparticipación de las regiones en la renta minera y de los recursos naturales, consultas a las comunidades en plebiscitos si desean mega industrias eléctricas o extractivas. Se mantiene el metarrelato de la leve incrementalidad histórica en un proceso gradual a la chilena de evolución de poder a los territorios. Probablemente el ciclo de protestas y rebeldía territorial se prolongará.
La verdad judicial que resulta de los casos aquí estudiados, permite reconsiderar la historia oficial y ofrecer una visión distinta, y a veces sorprendente, sobre algunos acontecimientos críticos de la historia nacional.
