This volume brings together the presentations of the 16th Göttingen Workshop on Family Law held on 19 October 2018, which dealt with the latest proposals of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection on the reform of guardianship law (2nd draft discussion section). At the beginning, the main changes were presented (Thomas Meyer, Heike Wunderlich) before the basic concept of guardianship responsibility in the area of personal care was examined from the perspective of science (Dieter Schwab), child and youth welfare (Helga Oberloskamp) and family jurisdiction (Werner Dürbeck). This was followed by a closer look at the basic principles of the guardian’s asset care (Tobias Fröschle) as well as the guardian's obligation to obtain approval for dispositions of claims and securities (Dagmar Zorn).

The "painters' painter," Anders Zorn (1860–1920) studied at the Stockholm Royal Academy of Art and took up residence in London and Paris, where he established an international roster of high-society clients. Will das Kind sein Wohl?
Das deutsche Kindschaftsrecht ist massgeblich durch den Begriff des Kindeswohls gepragt. Doch bis heute ist nicht klar, was dieser Begriff eigentlich bedeuten soll. Auch ist sein Verhaltnis zum Willen des Kindes bisher weitgehend ungeklart. Klar ist nur, dass es sich um einen unbestimmten Rechtsbegriff handelt. Die Interpretation dessen, was Kindeswohl ausmachen soll, ist von rechtlichen wie gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen, aber auch durch den Dialog von Recht und anderen Wissenschaftsdisziplinen wie der Psychologie gepragt. Jan-Robert Schmidt spurt der Entwicklung des Kindeswohlbegriffs seit der Nachkriegszeit nach und zeigt auf, welchen Wandlungen er uber die Jahrzehnte unterworfen war.
