Resource Management for Sustainable Agriculture
In this book, papers pertaining to resource management for sustainable agricultural development are presented in four parts divided into ten chapters. Part I discusses the usage of water and waste management for sustainable agricultural development including aspects like irrigation management to prevent soil and ground water salinization, production of solid fuel from oil palm waste, sustainable ecomaterials and biorefinery from agroindustrial waste, nonpoint pollution from agriculture and livestock activities on surface water. Part II discusses sustainable management of dryland resources especially carbon sequestration under changing climate scenario. Part III deals with efficient nutrient management for sustainable crop productivity in different agro-climatic conditions, soil quality and productivity improvement under rainfed conditions. Part IV throws light upon effect of conservation tillage on soil properties and impact of agricultural traffic and tillage on soil properties.

This two-volume set constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Human Aspects of IT for the Aged Population, ITAP 2022, held as part of the 24th International Conference, HCI International 2022, held as a virtual event, during June-July 2022. ITAP 2022 includes a total of 75 papers, which focus on topics related to designing for and with older users, technology acceptance and user experience of older users, use of social media and games by the aging population, as well as applications supporting health, wellbeing, communication, social participation and everyday activities. This two-volume set of ITAP 2023, constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Human Aspects of IT for the Aged Population, ITAP 2023, held as Part of the 24th International Conference, HCI International 2023, which took place in July 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.The total of 1578 papers and 396 posters included in the HCII 2023 proceedings volumes was carefully reviewed and selected from 7472 submissions. The papers of ITAP 2023 Part I are organized in topical sections named: Designing and Assessing the Older Users' Experience; Aging and Social Media; Voice Assistants and Chatbots; Games and Exergames for Older People.

The book Irrigation Systems and Practices in Challenging Environments is divided into two interesting sections, with the first section titled Agricultural Water Productivity in Stressed Environments, which consists of nine chapters technically crafted by experts in their own right in their fields of expertise. Water Supply and Water Scarcity
This Book includes selected papers that has been published in the Water journal Special Issue (SI) on Water Supply and Water Scarcity. Moreover, an overview of the SI is included. The papers selected for publication in the SI include review and research papers on water history, on water management issues under water scarcity regimes, on rainwater harvesting, on water quality and degradation, and on climatic variability impacts on water resources. This book investigates the current and future state of freshwater and the global drive to achieve the UN sustainability goal. It first explores the major barriers to achieving the goal and then examines some of the programs water managers are adopting to overcome those barriers. These programs include finding new ways to supplement existing water supplies, and greater acceptance of alternative supplies, such as recycled waste water and desalination; green infrastructures, and rain and storm water harvesting.
