David Kattermann (1731-1806) immigrated in 1752 from Germany (via Rotterdam and Plymouth, England) to Tulpehocken, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He anglicized his surname to Catherman, moving later to Union County and then to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and elsewhere.
