Founded in 1817, before a decade had passed the Seminary moved to the woods and fields of Clement Clarke Moore's country estate just north of the town in Chelsea. If the new generation is not told accurate information, then not only will the new generation and the generations that follow be misguided but, more importantly, the policy makers of the future will be making decisions based on mis-assessments. Out Here Down Under is a collection of documents and papers illuminating the development and character of ancient history as a discipline in the Antipodes. It considers especially the distinctive and extraordinarily popular program, championed by E. A. Judge, of studying classical and biblical corpora together under one discipline, with an emphasis on the interpretation of documentary sources. In twenty chapters, this volume considers such issues as the relationship between British and Antipodean scholarship, the story and legacy of Antipodean scholars of the ancient world, the nature and ideology of ancient history programs at schools and universities (especially in NSW and at Macquarie), the interaction between biblical and classical disciplines, and the function of history in contemporary Australia. These texts, mostly written by Judge himself throughout his career, appear here with new introductory notes outlining their historical significance for the discipline and Judge’s own practice.

God’s Good Covenant
In this study of Hosea Loren Bliese documents his current research into how the poetics of the Hebrew Bible were enhanced by arranging the counts of words and structures in order to beautify the message. The two words "good" and "covenant" are the only words that come once each in the five parts of the book. They point to a structural theme of the book, that God's covenant is good in contrast to idolatrous relationships that lead to disaster. Hosea's symbolic numbers are derived from both twenty-two of the Hebrew letters, and from twenty-six, the value of the divine name YHWH along with other numbers related to the name. Plays on the word "repent" or "return" have a build-up of repetitions to the end where the plea "Return, Israel, to the LORD your God" is prominent. Each of these words is marked by numeric significance. The book is a discourse analysis of Hosea's whole text, focusing on features of prominence, including symbolic numbers. The study analyzes thirty of the forty-five poems in Hosea with the form of metrical chiasmus pointing to a central peak. Bliese has developed this in previous writings. Abundant chi-square probability calculations support his analysis.
