This volume is divided into three major parts, each of which symbolizes a new virtuous circle that is added to the previous one in order to foster the dissemination of humanistic management (HM) among corporations and social institutions. After an introductory chapter explaining the concept of humanistic management and the plan behind this research project, the first part of the book is devoted to education. The authors address pedagogical strategies that can be used in higher education to introduce students to HM. In turn, the second part of the book focuses on the implementation of HM in corporations, while the third presents an approach for measuring and monetizing the social value generated by corporations through their economic activities. In the closing chapter, the editors illustrate how the three parts of the book can be combined to generate virtuous cycles in corporations.
This book brings together the letters that eight college-age students, three from Dartmouth College (Lucas Joshi, Rachel Kent, and Naren Radhakrishan) and five from the University of Deusto (Pablo Bellido, Paula del Barrio, Zuriñe Iglesias, Unai Murua, and Naiara Nájera) exchanged over email and videoconferencing from March to December 2020. A taboo subject in many cultures, homosexuality has been traditionally repressed in Latin America, both as a way of life and as a subject for literature. Yet numerous writers have attempted to break the cultural silence surrounding homosexuality, using various strategies to overtly or covertly discuss lesbian and gay themes. In this study, David William Foster examines more than two dozen texts that deal with gay and lesbian topics, drawing from them significant insights into the relationship between homosexuality and society in different Latin American countries and time periods. Foster's study includes works both sympathetic and antagonistic to homosexuality, showing the range of opinion on this topic. The preponderance of his examples come from Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico, countries with historically active gay communities, although he also includes material on other countries. Noteworthy among the authors covered are Reinaldo Arenas, Adolfo Caminha, Isaac Chocrón, José Donoso, Sylvia Molloy, Alejandra Pizarnik, and Luis Zapata.

Answering the question why nature can be understood requires an introduction to the new science of astrobiology and the exploration of the Solar System. A careful discussion of a ?second Genesis? is presented, namely our present awareness that life may have emerged on other worlds. Writing this volume has been motivated by the need to encourage a constructive dialogue between science and faith. Such an objective for a new book is timely, since science is inserted with well-defined frontiers in the context of human culture. Similarly, the frontiers of faith do not require religion to justify itself in scientific terms, avoiding current unnecessary controversies. This book intends to engage readers interested in the position of humans in nature. It makes a serious effort to avoid demanding detailed knowledge of science, philosophy, or theology, but will require some careful reading and meditation.

Como novela homosexual, Pasión y muerte del cura Deusto pertenece sin duda a la modalidad trágica: hay mucha angustia, mucha indagación interior, mucho nombrar-sin-nombrar —“¿Cómo permanecer aquí, donde todos dicen que somos… lo que no somos?”—, mucha vergüenza y un suicidio al final. Este suicidio permite medir, de hecho, la distancia entre esta novela y las ficciones homoeróticas que ya lleva escritas D’Halmar. Ga¬tita y La sombra del humo en el espejo eran textos básicamente elegíacos que celebraban una pederastia principalmente platónica; evitan el conflicto abiertamente homosexual y terminan sin muertes, pero con separaciones. En cambio, Pasión y muerte…, como otros relatos de Los alucinados donde el conflicto homosexual se hace patente (aunque permanezca innombrado), termina forzosamente en muerte, con el homosexual en papel de víctima sacrificial.
The book Academic Social Responsibility - Sine Qua Non for Corporate Social Performance is our endeavor to disseminate the awareness of the significance of responsible (especially management) education not only for academic stakeholders, but for the whole society.
