With the long-anticipated release of "Driver In!", David C. Enslee takes us deep into the hidden world of the pizza delivery industry. These are the narratives that the corporate pizza chains are afraid to tell. Each of these short stories was written while Dave was going through his "Marinara Period," and at last they have been assembled into one collection. The humanity of the pizza delivery business has finally been breathtakingly illustrated in 11 stories centered around a SnakeEyes Pizza franchise in northern New Jersey. Transcending the everyday work of tossing, baking and delivering, Enslee gets to the true heart of the industry: the people who drive the machine (or at least the cars). Too often, we take for granted that the smile on the deliveryman's face is genuine or that whenever we pick up the phone, someone will be there on the other end to take our order. Be warned, once you've read this book, you'll see the person ringing your doorbell in a completely different light.

On the Motive of the Incarnation

The Catholic University of America Press is pleased to announce a new series, Early Modern Catholic Sources, edited by Ulrich L. Lehner and Trent Pomplun. This series – the only one of its kind – will provide translations of early modern Catholic texts of theological interest written between 1450 and 1800. The first volume in this series is On the Motive of the Incarnation, the first English translation of the seventeenth-century Discalced Carmelites at the University of Salmanca treatise on the motive of the Incarnation. Originally intended for students of their order, it became a major contribution to broader theological discourse. In this treatise, they defend the assertion that God i...

Wawa

Wawa has more than two hundred years of history in American business. Founded in 1803 and incorporated in 1865, Wawa has roots in the manufacture of cast-iron water pipes and decorative lampposts. Using the resources and surplus water power from the iron business, the family opened a cotton mill and began producing cotton piece goods, including Red Star diapers. The first Wawa milk plant opened in 1902; by the late 1950s, the Wawa Dairy had expanded its home delivery business to include over one hundred forty-five routes. The first Wawa Food Market opened on April 16, 1964. Today, the company is familiar to many as a chain of five hundred forty convenience stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia that offers a wide selection of fresh foods, coffee, and gasoline. Wawa contains vintage images documenting the evolution of the company as it adapted to changing economic and social conditions. From the early days of iron manufacture to the opening of the first store in Folsom, Pennsylvania, Wawa brings to life the many facets of one of America's top privately owned companies.

Deep in the Amazon lies the solution to the global energy crisis - a mysterious source of power that will end our dependency on oil. It's not the only discovery. When entomologist Rebecca Riley receives a series of strange photographs from expedition leader and former partner, Ed Reardon, she finds herself heading to Brazil to join the team of scientists assembling there. She hasn’t seen Ed for more than a year, and their relationship hadn’t ended well. But his revelation is impossible to ignore. What she uncovers is beyond imagination: strange statues in the jungle… a ruined city built by the refugees of a lost Pacific continent… and a terrifying new species. She knows this is no ordinary animal. When the team is attacked, the mission becomes a desperate race for survival, and Rebecca must confront a crippling childhood phobia she'd thought long dead and buried. An ancient enemy has awakened, one whose very existence has implications for all of humankind... and the planet itself. TERROR HAS A NEW SPECIES.

From ca. 1300 a new genre developed in European literature, Neo-Latin drama. Building on medieval drama, vernacular theatre and classical drama, it spread around Europe. It was often used as a means to educate young boys in Latin, in acting and in moral issues. Comedies, tragedies and mixed forms were written. The Societas Jesu employed Latin drama in their education and public relations on a large scale. They had borrowed the concept of this drama from the humanist and Protestant gymnasia, and perfected it to a multi media show. However, the genre does not receive the attention that it deserves. In this volume, a historical overview of this genre is given, as well as analyses of separate plays. Contributors include: Jan Bloemendal, Jean-Frédéric Chevalier, Cora Dietl, Mathieu Ferrand, Howard Norland, Joaquín Pascual Barea, Fidel Rädle, and Raija Sarasti Willenius.

Risking his reputation and his life, Nash digs deep into a morass of dirty deals and uncovers a devastating plot of betrayal. The closer he gets to the truth, the more desperate the judges become—until they fight back with all the power at their command. It’s all coming to a head as the murder trial nears its verdict, a verdict that could spell death for not only the defendant but also for Nash himself.
