I think this is my best novel thus far. Of course I think this about every book I complete. No one derives more pleasure from the book than its author. This book mixes history with a fictional story of the inner actions of both Germany's and England's inner circles of leadership. It answers some of the questions of the inner workings of why World War II happened and how it progressed. I have my own ideas about this and have chronicled them in this book. It is the story of a young man, Eric Jansen, sent to England to deliver wetsuits to the British Navy. Off the coast of Iceland his ship is taken by a German U-boat. Only the wetsuit saves his life and he is the only survivor. Two months later...
Nolen's plans for development in Madison, Wisconsin.
This work presents an exciting travelogue of Fredrika Bremer, a Finnish-born Swedish writer, and feminist reformer. It's a letter diary, written during two years' travels in North America and Cuba, where she beautifully describes her experiences. She entertains the readers with unknown facts about the places and her adventures in a world that was new to her.
For Hire: Fiancee Eric Jansen was aware of the reputation he gained as a cold-hearted playboy. As a widower with a mysterious past marriage, work is his only solace...that is until the company investors threaten to pull out of the deal. With a new luxury hotel in Rio de Janeiro and a housing development for underprivileged families on the line, he needs a way to prove to the investors he is serious. The beautiful new photographer, Jayla Mitchelson, is perfectly outside of the media's eye. Not only will she help the deal, he just may find himself asking her to stay after the job is done.
Organizations increasingly need to deal with unstructured processes that traditional business process management (BPM) suites are not designed to deal with. High-risk, yet high-value, loan origination or credit approvals, police investigations, and healthcare patient treatment are just a few examples of areas where a level of uncertainty makes outc
The United States is the only modern nation in which communes have continuously existed for the past two hundred years. This definitive history of communes in America examines the major factors that have supported the existence and growth of communes throughout American history. The most impressive survey of the communal experience since the works of Noyes and Nordhoff, it is informed by a deep respect for the human subjects and organizational forms of American communes. The findings in the analytical chapters are of considerably theoretical import beyond the historical narrative. Oved details the founding, growth, development, and sometimes failure of alternative societies from 1735 to 1939: Icaria, Ephrata, Oneida, Shaker, religious, secular, and socialist communes. Extensive reference material cited will assure this work a special place in the archives of the literature on communes.
Tamara R. Piety argues that increasingly expansive First Amendment protections for commercial speech imperil public health, safety, and welfare; the reliability of commercial and consumer information; the stability of financial markets; and the global environment. Using evidence from public relations and marketing, behavioral economics, psychology, and cognitive studies, she shows how overly permissive extensions of protections to commercial expression limit governmental power to address a broad range of public policy issues.
