La ética de Ortega y Gasset. Del deber al imperativo biográfico, nos ofrece una panorámica general de la ética del filósofo español, tomando como hilo conductor la fenomenología de los valores y la «ciencia estimativa», esbozada por Ortega entre 1913 y 1923. La idea central de este libro es que, no solo su ética, sino toda su producción filosófica posterior, plasmada en escritos tan célebres como ¿Qué es filosofía? (1929), Goethe desde dentro (1932) o La idea de principio en Leibniz (1947), se funda, en última instancia, en esta «ciencia general del valor», como también la denomina Ortega.

Patologías de la existencia. Enfoques filosófico-antropológicos
Este libro está integrado por las aportaciones de diferentes especialistas sobre un tema interdisciplinar de interés creciente, que incluye, además de los conceptos de estar sano o sentirse enfermo, también los que se recogen desde antiguo en la expresión pathos y que alberga, en general, formas de existencia del ser humano, las disposiciones afectivas que son vividas y los sentimientos en que se manifiestan. Las pasiones humanas entendidas, en suma, como los diversos modos de encontrarse o de ser comprometidos en las diferentes formas de autocomprensión inherentes a la relación con los otros y el mundo. Aportaciones, en definitiva, sobre la afectividad y su relevancia para dilucidar lo específico del ser humano, un tema en el que actualmente se da un fecundo diálogo con otras áreas de investigación afines a la antropología filosófica, como son la fenomenología, la psico(pato)logía, la filosofía de la cultura, la hermenéutica, la antropología médica o la antropología cultural, tal como queda de manifiesto en este volumen colectivo.

Moving Ourselves, Moving Others
The close relationship between motion (bodily movement) and emotion (feelings) is not an etymological coincidence. While moving ourselves, we move others; in observing others move – we are moved ourselves. The fundamentally interpersonal nature of mind and language has recently received due attention, but the key role of (e)motion in this context has remained something of a blind spot. The present book rectifies this gap by gathering contributions from leading philosophers, psychologists and linguists working in the area. Framed by an introducing prologue and a summarizing epilogue (written by Colwyn Trevarthen, who brought the phenomenological notion of intersubjectivity to a wider audience some 30 years ago) the volume elaborates a dynamical, active view of emotion, along with an affect-laden view of motion – and explores their significance for consciousness, intersubjectivity, and language. As such, it contributes to the emerging interdisciplinary field of mind science, transcending hitherto dominant computationalist and cognitivist approaches.
