O livro mostra como a postura do arquiteto, na busca por uma nova consciência a respeito da propriedade privada, foi posta em prática no plano pessoal, quando transformou o térreo de sua casa na rua Amauri em uma passagem pública. Os cadernos de desenho são um suporte de organização de raciocínio utilizados por alguns arquitetos. O livro mostra imagens inéditas dos cadernos que Eduardo Longo utilizou para fazer um registro extenso e preciso durante os anos de 1980 e 1990.
