The Panama Canal Treaty and Allied Agreements of 1977 between the United States and the Republic of Panama (RoP) governed the operation, maintenance, and defense of the Panama Canal from their implementation on 1 October 1979 until 31 December 1999. The images recall the lifestyle of some villages and sites on the Pacific side of the Canal Zone such as Albrook, Ancon, Balboa, Balboa Heights, Clayton, Corozal, Diablo, Fort Amador, Gamboa, La Boca, Madden, Miraflores, Paraiso, Pedro Miguel and Summit.
