Bishop Abraha François

Taking account of the 10th memorial anniversary of the life of Bishop Abraha François, when the Tigrigna version was published, I honour the contribution of Reverend Kibreab Saad, to the life history of the honourable Bishop Abraha. A Father who in his life was deeply spiritual, an excellent example in his earthly life, by his exemplification or example, a Gospel teacher, who has contributed a great deal to the Catholic church in Eritrea, to be at a level it finds itself under by developing a strong level. In addition to what we can learn from his spiritual and priestly practices, is something we can learn from and needing record like this book contributed by Reverend Kibreab Saad who studied his priestly practices by Bishop Abraha, knowing him in person. To give a light in the life of Bishop Abraha for reflection by the reader is a great contribution. I share my appreciation for the book to go in to print.

Older Canadians on the Move

Older Canadians on the Move is a comprehensive, high-quality, expert panel study that examines all modes of transportation, including but not limited to those under federal jurisdiction such as intercity buses, ferries, trains and planes. The report is Canadian-specific, taking into account the country’s unique geography, vast size, low population density, and jurisdictional division of transportation control. Unlike other reports that focus on disability, this report examines the transportation needs that accompany normal changes associated with aging and focuses on older adults in general, rather than specific chronological ages or disabilities. Importantly, the Panel used a “door-through-door” approach when examining the issues, focusing on integrated seamless movement across the transportation network that would benefit everyone, regardless of background, age, or ability.

Starting with a tricycle at the age of four, François Mai has been passionate about cycling his whole life. Now in his eighties, François has come full circle and once again has a tricycle – a modern electric one. In the years between those two trikes, there have been many bicycles, ridden in six different countries on four continents. The pedals of those now dearly departed bicycles have propelled François along countless thousands of kilometres of both commuter and recreational bicycling, and provided the cycle of incidents and stories that fill the pages of this delightful book. Combining the centuries-old history and development of the bicycle with his own abiding, tireless affection for it, François spins a lively tale of intercontinental solo odysseys and group tours, of crashes and thefts, of scams and glorious scenery, and provides an ongoing endorsement of cycling for the aged. This engaging tour-de-force will delight readers, whether they ride an armchair or a gel-filled saddle.

Will “Hibou” be able to concentrate on the most important mission, or will his love for Simone lead to a moment’s carelessness that could be their undoing? On a dark night in July 1944, Special Operations Executive agent, Simone rows ashore from a submarine at the small fishing town of Golfe-Juan on the Côte d’Azur. She meets the Resistance Leader code name “Hibou” with whom she had a romantic affair during a mission in northern France several months previously. Once again, they engage in subterfuge operations against the German forces in the lead up to the Allied landings, codenamed Operation Dragoon, scheduled for the following month. Although their relationship is reawakened, the tension of their exploits and the possibility of being caught by the Gestapo from information leaked by traitors in their midst causes some instability. However, love has a way to conquer doubt, but as their love deepens so too does the risk of them making mistakes. Will Hibou be able to concentrate on the most important mission yet to come, or will his love for Simone lead to a moment’s carelessness that could be their undoing?
