This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th International Conference on Developments in Language Theory, DLT 2021, which was held in Porto, Portugal, during August 16-20, 2021. The conference took place in an hybrid format with both in-person and online participation. The 27 full papers included in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 48 submissions. The DLT conference series provides a forum for presenting current developments in formal languages and automata. Its scope is very general and includes, among others, the following topics and areas: grammars, acceptors and transducers for words, trees and graphs; algebraic theories of automata; algorithmic, combinatorial, and algebraic properties of words and languages; variable length codes; symbolic dynamics; cellular automata; polyominoes and multidimensional patterns; decidability questions; image manipulation and compression; efficient text algorithms; relationships to cryptography, concurrency, complexity theory, and logic; bio-inspired computing; quantum computing. The book also includes 3 invited talks in full paper length.
Selected, peer reviewed papers from the Chinese Materials Congress 2014 (CMC 2014), July 4-7, 2014, Chengdu, China
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Machines, Computations, and Universality, MCU 2022, held in Debrecen, Hungary, in August/September 2022. The 10 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 18 submissions. MCU explores computation in the setting of various discrete models (Turing machines, register machines, cellular automata, tile assembly systems, rewriting systems, molecular computing models, neural models, concurrent systems, etc.) and analog and hybrid models (BSS machines, infinite time cellular automata, real machines, quantum computing).
This book provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of current polypectomy techniques and describes new perspectives in the field. A wide variety of topics are covered, including classification of colon polyps, established polypectomy techniques and related controversies, advanced endoscopic resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection, the use of submucosal injection solutions, management of complications, management of anticoagulant and antiplatelet medications, and post-polypectomy endoscopic surveillance. Information is also provided on a novel risk calculation score for adenoma recurrence after polypectomy, developed by the editors of the book and their colleagues. In acquainting readers with the state of the art in the field, Colon Polypectomy will serve as a valuable reference and practical tool for all who perform the procedure, which is of ever-increasing importance given the recent success of colon cancer screening campaigns in leading to earlier detection of colon polyps.

Features: fully updated, revised and expanded, covering the entire spectrum of concepts, methods, and algorithms for automated face detection and recognition systems; provides comprehensive coverage of face detection, tracking, alignment, feature extraction, and recognition technologies, and issues in evaluation, systems, security, and applications; contains numerous step-by-step algorithms; describes a broad range of applications; presents contributions from an international selection of experts; integrates numerous supporting graphs, tables, charts, and performance data.
This book provides a multidisciplinary perspective (ranging from chemistry to physics and biology) of the current research and applications of organic and hybrid photonic crystals. The authors detail the chemical and physical tools used to develop organic photonic crystals, explain methods for engineering new nano-structures, and propose novel physical phenomena or technological applications based on such materials. Organic and Hybrid Photonic Crystal lasers, sensors, photovoltaic devices and stimuli responsive devices are discussed.
This book provides a cross-country study of the consequences of the expansion of intra-party democracy, the trend towards more inclusive methods of selection for party candidates and leaders, and the impact of these on political elites in terms of sociopolitical profile and patterns of careers. It explores the link between political organizations and political elites, by studying the role of parties in parliamentary and political selection and its impact on the political leadership appointed. Putting an emphasis on primary elections, it analyses the party elites that emerge from those selection processes and those democratized organizational settings. It focuses not only on the analysis of t...
This book covers two broad domains: state-of-the-art research in GaN HEMT and Ga2O3 HEMT. Each technology covers materials system, band engineering, modeling and simulations, fabrication techniques, and emerging applications. The book presents basic operation principles of HEMT, types of HEMT structures, and semiconductor device physics to understand the device behavior. The book presents numerical modeling of the device and TCAD simulations for high-frequency and high-power applications. The chapters include device characteristics of HEMT including 2DEG density, Id-Vgs, Id-Vds, transconductance, linearity, and C-V. The book emphasizes the state-of-the-art fabrication techniques of HEMT and circuit design for various applications in low noise amplifier, oscillator, power electronics, and biosensor applications. The book focuses on HEMT applications to meet the ever-increasing demands of the industry, innovation in terms of materials, design, modeling, simulation, processes, and circuits. The book will be primarily helpful to undergraduate/postgraduate, researchers, and practitioners in their research.
