This manuscript, entitled "The Story of the Indian Territory," was written by Foster some time after 1889. It is divided into thirteen chapters which include detailed descriptons of the movements of the North American Indians from 1492 to 1889, with particular emphasis on the Osages, Cherokees, Choctaws, Chickesaws, Creeks, Seminoles, and Ketoowahs. Foster is critical of white settlers who pushed the Indians further and further West until their settlements were "but the remainder of a minuend from which constant subtractions" were made.
