Boy George, born George Alan O'Dowd on 14th June 1961, Barnehurst Hospital, Barnehurst, Kent, England, UK, is a singer, songwriter, DJ and fashion designer. George is the lead singer of the pop group Culture Club. At the height of the band's fame, during the '80s, they recorded hit songs including Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me then Time (Clock of the Heart). O'Dowd is best known for his soulful voice and androgynous appearance, having been part of the English New Romantic movement which emerged during the late '70s - early '80s.
