Mary A Wiggins, as executrix of William W Wiggins, commenced an action of trespass to recover the value of a slave, Dinah, belonging to the estate whom she alleged had been beaten and injured by Lovett and her value impaired. Pending the action Mary Wiggins married and her position as executrix abated, and Thomas Johnson took over the suit as William Wiggins's administrator.
