Analytical constants of ghee, body fats and adulterated ghee samples did not give encouraging results in view of the large variation in the analytical constants of ghee from locality to locality. 2. Thin layer chromatography of saturated triglycerids (crystallized from diethyl ether) and their fatty acid composition revealed a marked difference between ghee and animal body fats.
