Mas alla de los Santos... la historia comienza aqui.. Cuando Santa Esmeralda abre el libro titulado: "BEYOND THE SAINTS" para leerlo a un pequeno oyente, el mundo comienza a sufrir cambios repentinos. Pandemias, desastres naturales, plagas y toda una incertidumbre politica se desata en el mundo en aras de una guerra mundial. Sin imaginar los sucesos que ocurren en el mundo, Santa Esmeralda narra una historia acerca de seis valientes guerreros que pelearan por salvar al mundo, son conocidos como Santos y cada uno posee poderes supernaturales. En el transcurso de su lectura, la dama es interrumpida por un ser que la advierte de lo que ha sucedido por abrir aquel libro y que los Santos de los que ella narra en su historia son reales y que vienen en camino con una premicia; tomar la vida de Santa Esmeralda y con ello evitar el fin del mundo.

Ephemeral Histories
Politics under Salvador Allende was a battle fought in the streets. Everyday attempts to “ganar la calle” allowed a wide range of urban residents to voice potent political opinions. Santiaguinos marched through the streets chanting slogans, seized public squares, and plastered city walls with graffiti, posters, and murals. Urban art might only last a few hours or a day before being torn down or painted over, but such activism allowed a wide range of city dwellers to participate in the national political arena. These popular political strategies were developed under democracy, only to be reimagined under the Pinochet dictatorship. Ephemeral Histories places urban conflict at the heart of Chilean history, exploring how marches and protests, posters and murals, documentary film and street photography, became the basis of a new form of political change in Latin America in the late twentieth century.
Performing Memories
What is memory today? How can it be approached? Why does the contemporary world seem to be more and more haunted by different types of memories still asking for elaboration? Which artistic experiences have explored and defined memory in meaningful ways? How do technologies and the media have changed it? These are just some of the questions developed in this collection of essays analysing memory and memory shapes, which explores the different ways in which past time and its elaboration have been, and still are, elaborated, discussed, written or filmed, and contested, but also shared. By gathering together scholars from different fields of investigation, this book explores the cultural, social and artistic tensions in representing the past and the present, in understanding our legacies, and in approaching historical time and experience. Through the analysis of different representations of memory, and the investigation of literature, anthropology, myth and storytelling, a space of theories and discourses about the symbolic and cultural spaces of memory representation is developed.
