Creemos que el inmenso valor que tiene el presbítero don Guillermo Porras Muñoz, como persona y como historiador, merece no solo este breve estudio sino otros más amplios. Su obra rebasa con mucho los límites del estado de Chihuahua, como se aprecia en su bibliografía, pero en lo que se refiere a esta entidad, coincido con don Zacarías Márquez Terrazas, en que el padre Porras es "el mejor historiador que hemos tenido en Chihuahua sobre los hechos del periodo colonial".
