Pompa merupakan suatu peralatan mekanis yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan energi fluida sehingga fluida tersebut dapat berpindah dari satu tempat ke tempat lain. Apabila diumpamakan tubuh manusia, pompa merupakan jantung yang memompa darah ke keseluruhan organ tubuh manusia. Dalam industri besar, misalnya industri minyak dan gas, serta petrokimia, pompa merupakan peralatan yang paling penting dan paling banyak digunakan. Pada umumnya pompa digunakan untuk memindahkan fluida dari tempat yang rendah ke tempat yang lebih tinggi. Pompa juga digunakan untuk memindahkan fluida melalui jaringan pipa yang panjang dan mempunyai hambatan yang besar. Buku ini membahas tentang konsep perancangan pompa yang disertai dengan contoh perhitungannya. Surface Water Treatment by Roughing Filters
