Correspondence Analysis in the Social Sciences
The first part of the book deals with basic concepts of correspondence analysis and related methods for analyzing cross-tabulations. It then looks at the multivariate case when there are several variables of interest, including the relationship to cluster analysis, factor analysis and reliability of measurement. Die Arbeit war ursprünglich als Vergleichsuntersuchung zu der Studie von Dangschat und Frtedrichs (1988) konzipiert. Diese fand 1986 in Hamburg statt und kann als die erste bundesdeutsche Untersuchung zu diesem Thema bezeich net werden. This book deals with the process of the diffusion of cohabitation in Europe and discusses its impact upon fundamental changes in family formation. It makes use of highly dynamic statistical modelling that takes into account both changes occurring along the life course (individuals’ biographies) and across birth cohorts of individuals (generational change) in a comparative perspective.
