Mobility and Fantasy in Visual Culture
This volume offers a varied and informed series of approaches to questions of mobility—actual, social, virtual, and imaginary—as related to visual culture. Contributors address these questions in light of important contemporary issues such as migration; globalization; trans-nationality and trans-cultural difference; art, space and place; new media; fantasy and identity; and the movement across and the transgression of the proprieties of boundaries and borders. The book invites the reader to read across the collection, noting differences or making connections between media and forms and between audiences, critical traditions and practitioners, with a view to developing a more informed understanding of visual culture and its modalities of mobility and fantasy as encouraged by dominant, emergent, and radical forms of visual practice.
Sacrificial Limbs

The author has considered the research studies as a discipline and used the term "Researchology" as a terminology for research studies as a discipline with its structure, process and behavioural aspects. Living Inside the Grid
A grid is an abstract, simple mathematical structure ordered by ninety-degree angles and regularly spaced columns and rows. A grid is also the cities we live and work in, the buildings that tower over us, the electricity and fiber-optic networks that sustain our energy and information needs. We do, as the title of this thematic catalogue suggests, "live inside the grid." The pervasive grid-based visual and information systems that have come to increasingly define contemporary life are explored here by 24 international artists, for whom the grid is something very different than the motif it was for 20th century artists. Artists include Absalon, Jennifer Bolande, Jose Damasceno, Do-Ho Su, Luisa Lambri, Langlands & Bell, Mark Lombardi, Rita McBride, N55 and Danica Phelps. Friends of the Divided Mind is an exhibition that addresses the organisations that support contemporary art. The show is divided into four projects that consider potentialities for the future of exhibition histories, artist-run spaces, performative and durational practices, and financially independent art spaces, initiated by a strong desire for alternatives. This is reflected in the partitioning of inquiries, working groups and resources, in support of a shared undertaking by the thirteen curators, who are graduating students on the MA Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art, that in turn subverts traditions of consensual decision making.
