Important treatise on water rights that examines rights based on relationships from the international to the community level as they affect water rights. This book has three parts: Part One: The Rights of States and Nations examines international rights and constitutional and statutory rights. Part Two: Rights Between Public and Individual, includes the public use of waterways, municipal water supply, drainage and rights of navigation. Part Three: Rights Between Individuals discusses the rights of riparian owners in watercourses, such as the right to dam a stream.
Farnham Pond Griffiths Papers
The papers of Farnham P. Griffiths include correspondence and subject files documenting Griffiths' personal and professional life. Included are materials regarding family history, his education, his work with the University of California, records of the Maritime Law Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco as well as other institutions of particular interest to him such as the Bohemian Club, the Rhodes Scholarship and Oxford University. Also included are papers of his father, Griffith Griffiths, most notably his handwritten sermons as well as Farnham's extensive menu collection and his records regarding the estate of Henry Morse Stephens. The bulk of the collection was arranged alphabetically by topic and that order has been retained resulting in an organization into seven series: Correspondence; Topical Files; Writings; Personal; Henry Morse Estate; Griffith Griffiths; and Menu Collection.
