Information modeling and knowledge bases have become essential subjects in the last three decades, not only in academic communities related to information systems and computer science, but also in the areas of business where information technology is applied. This book presents the proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Information Modelling and Knowledge Bases (EJC2018), held in Riga, Latvia from 4–8 June 2018. The aim of the conference was to bring together experts with a common interest in the understanding and solving of problems on information modelling and knowledge bases, as well as those from different areas of computer science and other disciplines who apply the results of research to practice. What do we make of the variance in other types of cultural heritage? How can we describe, record, and reproduce it systematically? From medieval to modern times, from image to audiovisual media, the book traces discourses across different disciplines in order to develop a conceptual model for scholarly editions on a broader scale. Cognitive Underwater Acoustic Networking Techniques
This book summarizes the latest research on cognitive network-layer methods and smart adaptive physical-layer methods in underwater networks. Underwater communication requires extendable and delay-tolerant underwater acoustic networks capable of supporting multiple frequency bands, data rates and transmission ranges. The book also discusses a suitable foreground communication stack for mixed mobile/static networks, a technology that requires adaptive physical layer waveforms and cognitive network strategies with underlying cooperative and non-cooperative robust processes. The goal is to arrive at a universally applicable standard in the area of Underwater Internet-of-Things [ISO/IEC 30140, 30142, 30143]. Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht, inwiefern das Böse die Systemidentität der christlichen Wirklichkeitsperspektive konstitutiv mitbestimmt. Ausgangspunkt ist dabei die Beobachtung, dass Theologie explizit heuristisch die Reflexion über das Böse vorantreiben muss, da sie weder der Vielstimmigkeit der Postmoderne das Wort reden noch dogmatistisch resignieren kann. Dies will die Arbeit mithilfe eines modelltheoretischen Zugangs leisten.
