Production Structure and International Trade
The present monograph analyses some topics in the pure theory of international trade. They are all concerned with the structure of production to which I have paid particular attention after the completion of my Ph.D. course at University of New South Wales. In my Ph.D. thesis, I studied extensively the production possibility sets under Professor Murray C. Kemp, who kindly contained all my products in his edi ting book, Production Sets (Academic Press, 1982). Since then, I have developed the work to the studies of international trade. The present volume is organized with these studies. Therefore, although the draft was written at Nagoya City University, the works at Tokyo Metropolitan Uni versi ty in 1980, Kobe Uni versi ty of Commerce from 1981 to 1984 and University of New South Wales in 1985 were also substantial. All uni versi ties provided me with comfortable circumstances and good colleagues for my academic work.

In production systems there are often capacity oriented performance objectives, like a desired total throughput, a desired average throughput time and average work in-process. Such performance objectives are expressed in "units of products" rather than in specific product types. Large-Scale Modelling and Interactive Decision Analysis
These Proceedings report the scientific results of an International Workshop on Large-Scale Modelling and Interactive Decision Analysis organized Jointly by the System and Decision Sciences Program of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA, located in Laxenburg, Austria), and the Institute for Informatics of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (located in Berlin, GDR). Equity, Incentives, and Taxation
Redistribution is one of the most fundamental issues in welfare economics. In connection with this term the following questions directly arise: What is a good redistribution ? Which (governmental) instruments should be used to attain it ? Is there a "best instrument" if several of them are available? Or, to express it more generally, which allocations are at all attainable if special instruments are at hand ? All these questions are formulated in an extremely vague way. It will be the task of the following work to make these questions precise and to give answers - as far as possible. It is a matter of course that these answers will not be exhaustive because redistribution is too wide a field. I have used the word "instrument" intentionally. In doing so, Iwanted to indicate that it is not necessary to restrict oneself to income - or commodity taxes as is common place in public finance when aiming at redistribution.
