The Right Not to Stay
This book's innovative focus on the right not to stay is prompted instead by the realization that increasing numbers of migrants throughout the world conceive and plan their migratory experience as circumscribed in time and instrumental to goals and projects that they will pursue once back in their country of origin. These temporary migration projects are worthy of being accommodated by the receiving states as much as the migratory plans of those who resolve or aim to immigrate on a permanent basis. Accommodating them entails setting up the appropriate welfare measures and programs in the host country and, through bi-lateral agreements, in the country of return.

El aumento de la esperanza de vida, si bien es un logro de las políticas sociales de cada nación, constituye también una problemática por los impactos globales e individuales que trae consigo el creciente envejecimiento poblacional. No se trata solo de vivir más años, sino también de vivirlos con calidad, y para ello hay que tener en cuenta a las instituciones y personas que acompañan a los ancianos en su proceso de envejecimiento. Con tal fin, el Grupo de Investigaciones sobre Cuidado al Adulto Mayor, perteneciente a la Universidad de La Habana, propone lecturas en clave sociológica, un compendio de estudios que analizan el rol de los actores que participan en las labores de cuidado en la sociedad cubana, con mayor o menor reconocimiento: el Estado, la familia, las redes de apoyo, la Iglesia y el mercado. El texto presenta los logros y dificultades que han acumulado en su misión de servicio, y muestra alternativas y experiencias consumadas para responder acertadamente a las necesidades materiales y espirituales del grupo demográfico constituido por los adultos mayores.

Ökonomische und soziale Disparitäten zwischen Emigrations- und Immigrationsländern tragen entschieden dazu bei, dass jährlich etwa 12 Millionen Menschen ihr Heimatland verlassen, sind jedoch nicht die einzigen Motivationen, welche Migranten zu einer (temporären) Emigration bewegen. Die Push- und Pull-Faktoren reichen z.B. vom Arbeitsangebot und dessen Nachfrage, den Bildungschancen, der höheren Sicherheit im Zielland bis hin zur Familienzusammenführung. Dennoch werden Migranten weltweit mit ihren individuellen Erlebnissen und Erfahrungen kategorisiert und bekommen, je nach Gesetzeslage der jeweiligen Nation, Stati auferlegt, welche ihre Zukunftsperspektiven festlegen. Die vorliegende Studie liefert demnach keine Ergebnisse für den Migrationsprozess der Zentralamerikaner, um abschließende Schlussfolgerungen oder Generalisierungen vorzunehmen. Vielmehr gibt die Untersuchung einen Einblick in die irreguläre Transitmigration Mexikos, wie sie von Oktober bis Dezember 2012 in Guadalajara (Zentralmexiko) und im ersten Halbjahr 2013 von sieben Migrantenherbergen in Gesamtmexiko dokumentiert wurde.
