Leibniz ecrivit au R. P. Des Bosses jusqu'aux derniers jours de sa vie. Mais ce n'est pas seulement la mort qui mit fin a cette ultime correspondance: c'est que le systeme trouve ici sa cloture. Les entretiens portent sur la querelle du jansenisme, le corps des anges, l'union de l'ame et du corps, la substance composee, la transsubstantiation. C'est la relation qui les occupe, cette relation qui produit l'etre, c'est-a-dire l'unite: celle des eglises autour du Christ. La relation metaphysique pose un probleme analogue: quelles relations penser entre les monades pour produire leur unite? Cela impose de reflechir sur la transsubstantiation, donc sur le Christ.
