The Second Edition of this book presents the state of the art in this important field. Marketing decision models constitute a core component of the marketing discipline and the area is changing rapidly, not only due to fundamental advances in methodology and model building, but also because of the recent developments in information technology, the Internet and social media. This Handbook contains eighteen chapters that cover the most recent developments of marketing decision models in different domains of marketing. Compared to the previous edition, thirteen chapters are entirely new, while the remaining chapters represent complete updates and extensions of the previous edition. This new edi...

Disposable And Flexible Chemical Sensors And Biosensors Made With Renewable Materials

Sensors for measuring and detecting chemical and biological substances are comprehensively used and are, for the most part, unobtrusive. They can help monitor our health through alerting us to chemical or biological changes in our bodies, our environment through checking air quality or pollution levels and they can contribute towards a more sustainable future. Polymer-based sensors are the subject of much attention due to their ability to collect molecules on their flexible sensory surfaces. However, most petroleum-based polymers are not renewable, leading to problems of waste-disposal. By using renewable materials, such as paper, cotton or starch, these problems can be overcome. This book r...

Handbook of Marketing Analytics

Marketing Science contributes significantly to the development and validation of analytical tools with a wide range of applications in business, public policy and litigation support. The Handbook of Marketing Analytics showcases the analytical methods used in marketing and their high-impact real-life applications. Fourteen chapters provide an overview of specific marketing analytic methods in some technical detail and 22 case studies present thorough examples of the use of each method in marketing management, public policy, and litigation support. All contributing authors are recognized authorities in their area of specialty.

This book covers graphene reinforced polymers, which are useful in electronic applications, including electrically conductive thermoplastics composites, thermosets and elastomers. It systematically introduces the reader to fundamental aspects and leads over to actual applications, such as sensor fabrication, electromagnetic interference shielding, optoelectronics, superconductivity, or memory chips. The book also describes dielectric and thermal behaviour of graphene polymer composites - properties which are essential to consider for the fabrication and production of these new electronic materials. The contributions in this book critically discuss the actual questions in the development and applications of graphene polymer composites. It will thus appeal to chemists, physicists, materials scientists as well as nano technologists, who are interested in the properties of graphene polymer composites.

Managing Social Robotics and Socio-cultural Business Norms

This book explores the co-existence of humans and AI in business contexts. Though AI and social robots have become ubiquitous, there are still many challenges facing technological expansion, including a true understanding of abstract concepts, transfer of knowledge to novel application problems, transparency and security guarantees, and distinguishing between random and logically meaningful relationships. While machines are valuable tools, only humans are capable of recognizing values which are the key to ethics and socio-cultural norms. Further, human virtues such as emotional intelligence, wisdom, and courage are required for decision making in many (private and professional) situations wh...

This book is a comprehensive compendium of current knowledge on inherited and autoimmune blistering diseases that relates advances in our understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms to management of the individual diseases. The aim is to provide a detailed reference for dermatologists who care for patients with these conditions and a useful “one-stop information shop” for specialists outside of dermatology. The book opens by describing the structure and biology of the epidermis and basement membrane zone and discussing the genes and proteins that are targets for mutations and autoantibodies. The role of the various diagnostic tests is explained, and clinical manifestations of the specific diseases are presented with the aid of many high-quality illustrations. The forms of treatment appropriate in specific conditions are then described in depth, with coverage of dressings, drugs, surgical procedures, gene therapy, and other novel approaches. Helpful algorithms are included both for testing and monitoring and for treatment.

Choice Models in Marketing

Choice Models in Marketing

Choice Models in Marketing examines recent developments in the modeling of choice for marketing and reviews a large stream of research currently being developed by both quantitative and qualitative researches in marketing. Choice in marketing differs from other domains in that the choice context is typically very complex, and researchers' desire knowledge of the variables that ultimately lead to demand in marketplace. The marketing choice context is characterized by many choice alternatives. The aim of Choice Models in Marketing is to lay out the foundations of choice models and discuss recent advances. The authors focus on aspects of choice that can be quantitatively modeled and consider models related to a process of constrained utility maximization. By reviewing the basics of choice modeling and pointing to new developments, Choice Models in Marketing provides a platform for future research.

Soft material-enabled electronics offer distinct advantage, over conventional rigid and bulky devices, for numerous wearable and implantable applications. Soft materials allow for seamless integration with skin and tissues due to enhanced mechanical flexibility and stretchability. Wearable devices, such as sensors, offer continuous, real-time monitoring of biosignals and movements, which can be applied in rehabilitation and diagnostics, among other applications. Soft implantable electronics offer similar functionalities, but with improved compatibility with human tissues. Biodegradable soft implantable electronics are also being developed for transient monitoring, such as in the weeks following surgery. To further advance soft electronics, materials, integration strategies, and fabrication techniques are being developed. This paper reviews recent progress in these areas, toward the development of soft material-enabled electronics for medicine, healthcare, and human-machine interfaces.
