The Accidental Conservative
In the early nineties, Jim Riggins became a conservative on a bet. He didnt expect to enjoy the ruse but did. Years later, he found himself in the White House working for George W. Bush. Life was good for the GOP, but thanks to the Right's fealty to authority, the party stumbled. As a result, a plan to win back the hearts and minds of America was devised. Along with chicken-hawks like El Rushbo, Glen Beck, Sean Hannity and, of course, Sarah Palin, Forty-Three enlists in the Army after his two terms. He does so at the direction of Dick Cheney who also orders Jim to enlist and run interference for the former president. But theres a problem. Americans are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. Then Vietnam attacks a neighbor and provides the group a warzone where Americans arent dying. Trained up, the flock deploys to Vietnam Part II where Charlie attacks its vehicle and throws its members into a POW camp. Starved and sick, the group is forced to survive in the jungle under the ideological Colonel Mai. But the group can go home if it agrees to do one thing.

Reverend Jim Donovan escaped his troublesome past as well as the care of the evil Dr. Pere and moved with his family to the peaceful town of Paradise, South Carolina. Will he rise above his demons and find forgivenessor will his own sin destroy him, along with all the people he loves.

William Burton Brown was born in 1832. His parents were Elizabeth Wasson and Nathaniel Brown. He married Mary Catherine Spain (1832-1923). They had eight children. He died in 1903. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina.

Lindale, Lint, and Leather is Randall McCord's third published work. Beginning in 2015, he and former player Tommy Moon wrote 739 pages about The Cotton Picking Centre Warriors, which was a hundred-year history of their high school football team located in Cherokee County, Alabama. Six years later, he authored a semibiographical book about a journey from Roy Hill's cotton fields to US Navy duty on the island of Oahu set in Hawaii's last year as a territory and first as the fiftieth state. Both have been well received by casual readers and historians. The eighty-three-year-old has experienced a varied career as a farm boy, athlete, Navy petty officer, college student, and later high school teacher and coach. Yet for the past four decades, he has owned and operated a forest products company with wife, Joyce Anne, in Rome, Georgia, near their home on Rockmart Road in Silver Creek.
