Most importantly however, I hope that all those who read the book get some real enjoyment and satisfaction from it, because personally I have thoroughly enjoyed writing this fi rst series of Short Stories.

Brought to Life by the Voice explores the distinctive aesthetics and affective power generated by this division of labor between onscreen body and offscreen voice in South Indian Tamil cinema.
