The story takes place in a future where humanity has transformed the moon with numerous colonies and transitioned into a highly artificial intelligence environment where most servers in restaurants are robots, along with nurses and pilots of rockets. The main character goes through a transition from being an advanced systems engineer into a discoverer of humanity’s relationship with the Supreme Being and the potential for achieving immortality in the existence for humanity.
