Solid Oxide Fuels Cells: Facts and Figures

Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) operate at high temperatures allowing more fuel flexibility and also useful heat output and so increase total efficiency, but does give some interesting engineering challenges. Solid Oxide Fuels Cells: Facts and Figures provides clear and accurate data for a selection of SOFC topics from the specific details of Ni cermet anodes, chemical expansion in materials, and the measuring and modelling of mechanical stresses, to the broader scope of the history and present design of cells, to SOFC systems and the future of SOFC. Celebrating Ulf Bossel’s work on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells, and especially his running of the European Fuel Cell Forum, Solid Oxide Fuels Cells: ...

You and Me and Cancer Makes Three is a poetical journey about survival from cancer. An uplifting and enduring tale of his journey with Cancer. John held his hands around his own mortality, yet leaves the clinic whole, with much more than he ever expected: he discovers the true meaning of friendship, redemption and hope as told in his poetry. Discovering he had skin cancer, John Irvine had routine surgery in 2009. However, a few cells had gone feral and radical treatment became necessary. On the advice of his oncologist, he checked in at the Lions Cancer Lodge at Waikato Hospital in New Zealand for five weeks. In this unique poetic memoir, John Irvine tells his story with wit, honesty and emotion. The friends he makes at Waikato will become your friends; you'll share frustration and laughter and bittersweet tears. You and Me and Cancer Makes Three by Pohutukawa Publishing Limited brings well known New Zealand poet and author to the spotlight with needed attention to cancer survivors.

Man of Stone is John Irvine's early work and has been celebrated as some of his best work of poetry within New Zealand in the modern century. His ability to capture emotions, feeling, and imagery through brash and sarcastic measures is unparalleled to others. John says: Man of Stone genesis... Although I fiddled with rhyming poetry over the years it was only when I returned to NZ in 1996 from a 29 year holiday in Australia that I began to write in earnest. This came about in the traditional manner... love poetry for a girlfriend. Terrible stuff really. However, it morphed fairly quickly into observational stuff and I began to get a "feeling" for what I was doing. I met a woman on the Internet in a writer's group who was living in Greece and after a quick trip there to meet up she decided to move to NZ. This English ex-pat was the trigger for me... this novelist/writer and embryonic poet inspired me to take stock of what I was doing and I blossomed at age 60. A few years flashed by and I was submitting globally to online magazines and ezines and on fire.

Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II, Nine Volume Set reviews and examines topics of relevance to today’s inorganic chemists. Covering more interdisciplinary and high impact areas, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry II includes biological inorganic chemistry, solid state chemistry, materials chemistry, and nanoscience. The work is designed to follow on, with a different viewpoint and format, from our 1973 work, Comprehensive Inorganic Chemistry, edited by Bailar, Emeléus, Nyholm, and Trotman-Dickenson, which has received over 2,000 citations. The new work will also complement other recent Elsevier works in this area, Comprehensive Coordination Chemistry and Comprehensive Organometallic Che...

Two Voices is a collection of illustrated haibun by John Irvine and Maureen Irvine. According to John Irvine, "Two Voices began as an idea after a complaint from my poet/writer wife (justified!) that although I had, and still was, building anthology after anthology I had never suggested a joint collection with her." John took her comments to heart and thought long and hard about what we might do. A few years before, John and Maureen had both fallen in love with the various Japanese styles of poetry and had both written many haiku and senryu. John then discovered haiga and embraced that particular type with its haiku written on a photograph or other illustration. It seemed that the ideal form for the poets and writers was the haibun. In this particular type of poem prose is interspersed with haiku/senryu. Unfortunately, pressure of work (more anthologies) sidelined the collection for a couple of years but finally, with the expert help of my genius graphics friend, Dave Freeman, and the interest shown by Roger Lang of Pohutukawa Publishing in NZ, here it is!
